Technical Support from a Hydrologist

In July, the City of Keystone Heights in conjunction with LAWA (and other groups) sought the hiring of a hydrologist to provide technical support for our water cause. A representative from the SJRWMD helped to clarify what that support might entail:

Here are some thoughts regarding the type of technical support that you may want to seek from Peter or another qualified consultant. This reflects the type of technical support that I envision stakeholders providing through the process. Please be aware that 1) this is not a formal recommendation, and 2) even with a revised scope that is limited to these type of technical tasks, the decision would likely remain the same regarding the current lack of District cost-share funds.

Identify Proposed Measures
  • Possible measures (i.e. projects) that may improve lake levels;
  • When developing the measures, be mindful of feasibility, assumptions, and outside factors that would need to be addressed in order for the proposed measure(s) to be implemented;
  • Work with the Development Team to determine what level of detail is necessary; and
  • Develop a written report that the client could bring forward to the Development Team.
Review SJRWMD Analysis of the Benefits of Proposed Measures
  • Provide a peer review of technical analyses that quantified the benefits of the proposed measure(s); and
  • Interpret findings for the client.
